The Artists in Schools Program
Net proceeds from this event benefit the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County and Artists in the Schools, its signature program. This partnership program of United Arts, Wake County Public School System and Wake PTA’s provides arts education and creative opportunities for K-12 students.
Last year, this program made possible:
-413 arts programs in 152 schools
-54 writer-in-residence programs
-97 artist residencies/workshops
-262 performances
Your gift to United Arts helps make the arts accessible to everyone in Wake County. Thank you!
United Arts of Raleigh & Wake County is a multi-faceted community organization supporting the arts in Wake County. Because of the Artists in the Schools program, more than 100,000 Wake school children see a theatre, dance or music performance or get a week-long artist visit every year. Established for more than 30 years, Artists in Schools continues to grow in popularity at a time when more formal arts instruction in schools is being cut. Without the program, many children would not be exposed to art in any other way.
“Some of the happiest, most engaging times of our school year are the days we feel the impact of the United Arts Council."
— Principal, Wake County Elementary School
