Eric Cecka, Painter

For the past twenty-five years, Eric Cecka has been pursuing an artistic path that encourages exploration and experimentation, while engaging with ideas and concepts that challenge and stimulate his intuitive approach to the materials and processes used in the physical creation of his work. Although Eric works in various mediums, he is recognized primarily for his paintings. Emerging as a figurative painter, Eric’s pictorial and organizational elements have progressed over time, from abstract expressionism to a pure abstraction. His current work deals with objectivity, space and perception realized through his geometric, color field and monochromatic paintings. Eric’s work is represented in private art collections both regionally and nationally. He lives in Raleigh with his wife, musician/teacher Martha Cecka, and their always inspiring daughter, Stella.
