Martha Cecka, Musician

Martha Cecka has been performing, teaching, mentoring, and advocating for nearly 25 years. As a jazz vocalist, Martha is known for her quintessential interpretations of the American Songbook and performs throughout North Carolina in museums, festivals, galleries, and clubs. Also a classical vocalist, Martha is a member of the prestigious North Carolina Master Chorale, resident chorus of the NC Symphony. As a pianist, her focus on composition and improvisation has led to years of performance, as well as a vigorous teaching studio. A North Carolina native, Martha received a B.M. degree in piano performance from Meredith College in 1988, and has been championing the Triangle arts community ever since. Married to artist Eric Cecka in 1997, Martha’s daily inspiration comes from the life they share together with their beautiful daughter, Stella.
